Wonka: When a Magician Chases a Dream to Create a Magic Chocolate

Wonka is a new musical fantasy film starring Timothée Chalamet. It is the third film adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Unlike the previous films, Wonka is a prequel movie that shows the journey of young Willy Wonka before becoming the owner of the famous chocolate factory.

Here is the synopsis of Wonka.

Willy Wonka (Timothée Chalamet) is a successful owner of a giant chocolate factory. But long before that, he traveled around the world for 7 years to perfect his chocolate-making skills.

Before becoming a chocolate factory owner, Wonka was just an ordinary young man known for his magic skills. In addition, it turns out that he had a dream to become a chocolate maker who had his own shop.

It was not easy for Wonka to realize his dream because there was a chocolate cartel that wanted to control the market. However, Wonka could not let his dream be hindered by the cartels.

Wonka thought hard about creating new chocolate innovations to compete with the cartel's chocolate products.

One day, he came up with an idea to make chocolate by utilizing his magic skills. Wonka concocted chocolate with a mixture of his magic spices.

Eventually, he created magical chocolates that would produce certain unique effects when eaten. One of them is his first magic chocolate that can make people levitate when they eat it.

Gradually, Wonka's chocolates began to grab people's attention. Many people came to love Wonka's magical chocolates.

Not satisfied there, Wonka began a journey by traveling around the world to perfect his chocolate so that he could realize his dream chocolate factory.

Once on the road, Wonka meets a mysterious magical dwarf named Oompa Loompa (Hugh Grant). Together with Oompa Loompa, Wonka will realize his dream of building a chocolate factory.

Wonka is a fantasy-musical movie that will not only showcase Timothée Chalamet's acting skills but also his singing and dancing skills.

Wonka is directed by Paul King who previously directed Paddington (2014) and Paddington 2 (2017). The script was written by King along with Simon Rich who has written Inside Out (2015) and The Secret Life of Pets (2016).

In addition to Timothee Chalamet as the lead, Wonka stars a number of well-known actors. Some of them are Keegan-Michael Key, Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, and Olivia Colman.

The movie is also enlivened by Jim Carter, Matt Lucas, Tom Davis, and introduces a newcomer actress named Calah Lane.

Wonka is scheduled to hit theaters on December 6.
