The Expendables 3 Movie Synopsis The movie tells the story of mercenaries known as The Expendables who come into conflict with ruthless arms dealer Conrad Stonebanks, one of the founders of the Expendables, who is determined to destroy the team.

The Expendables-led by Barney Ross and formed by Lee Christmas, Gunner Jensen, and Toll Road-take a former member of Doctor Death, a knife specialist, and a medical team, from a military prison during his transfer by train. They recruited Doctor Death to help them intercept a shipment of bombs meant to be delivered to a warlord in Somalia. Once there, they are reunited with Hale Caesar, who directs them to a drop point, where Ross is surprised to learn that the arms dealer providing the bombs is Conrad Stonebanks, a former Expendables founder who went rogue after being presumed dead. In the ensuing shootout, The Expendables kill everyone except Stonebanks, who shoots Caesar. They are forced to retreat when Stonebanks drops a glide bomb on them from his helicopter, and Caesar is mortally wounded.

Back in the United States, CIA agent Max Drummer, the Expendables' new mission manager, gives Ross the mission to capture Stonebanks to bring him to the International Criminal Court to stand trial for war crimes. Blaming himself for Caesar's injury, Ross disbanded the Expendables and left for Las Vegas, where he enlisted retired mercenary turned recruiter Bonaparte to help him find a new team of young mercenaries. The recruits include former US Marine John Smilee, nightclub bouncer Luna, computer expert Thorn, and weapons expert Mars. Skilled marksman Galgo asks to be included in the team, but Ross turns him down.

The four new team members meet Ross' rival Trench Mauser, returning the favor to Ross. Drummer had traced Stonebanks all the way to Bucharest, where he was preparing to make an arms deal. Ross and the new recruits infiltrate the office building that Stonebanks uses and, having to kill several people in the process including arms buyer Goran Vata, capture Stonebanks. On the way, Stonebanks taunts Ross and explains why he betrayed The Expendables. Ross almost kills him to silence him, but, despite Stonebanks' urging, he backs down. Stonebanks' men pursue them, with the help of his GPS Tracker, and fire a missile at the team's van. Ross was thrown into the river, while Smilee, Luna, Thorn and Mars were captured by the Stonebanks crew. Ross killed the Stonebanks retrieval team and escaped.

Stonebanks sends Ross a video, challenging Ross to go after him and giving him a location in Azmenistan. While preparing to leave and perform the rescue alone, Ross was spotted by Galgo, who offered his services again. Ross accepts, then is accompanied by Expendables veterans. They rescue the young mercenary, only to learn from Stonebanks that he has planted explosives on the spot with only 45 seconds left to detonate. As the young and veteran Expendables fight each other, Ross convinces them to work together to take down Stonebanks. As the final battle begins, Thorn uses a jammer device to delay the countdown, giving less than half an hour before the explosion. Stonebanks orders the Azmenistan army to attack the building with full force, including tanks and attack helicopters. Drummer and Trench arrive by helicopter to assist, along with returning Expendables member Yin Yang.
